A printed steel engraved print by Frith Creswick Ansdell, a master of engraving technique in the 19th century. It was printed on very thick paper, with no printing on reverse. It was printed in the period view of Victorian romance. This particular type of highly skilled hand engraving upon metal plate printing process is now essentially extinct as a method of reproducing popular images, rendering this printed leaf an interesting original artifact from a past era.
